The Classroom of the Future - Today

Today’s classroom no longer consists solely of wooden desks, tables, and chairs.

The modern faculty employs digital teaching techniques, and students have greater expectations regarding their learning experience.

Technology is at the center of it all.

Today’s classroom must adapt to meet these changing needs.

At ISE, we have designed and built innovative classroom furniture that will meet the challenges of the new educational age. We call it The Classroom of the Future – Today.

At its center is the unique All-in-One Desk.

Many of today’s computer labs and connected classrooms fall short in their design for computer equipment management and instructor-to-student communication.

You’ve seen them – computer desks covered with tower cpu’s and monitors; unsightly and exposed computer cables and wires hanging dangerously; students straining to see the front of the classroom and the instructor – their view blocked by their monitors; and no open desk space for their books or note taking.

Hardly an inspired learning environment.

Now, imagine a desk that takes a computer and houses it within the desk - neatly, safely, and securely. All computer equipment is removed from the desktop and all cables and wires are concealed - leaving a large open desk surface.

When you want to use the computer, stay seated and simply press the up button and watch the monitor, keyboard and mouse rise automatically from inside the desk – ready to use in seconds. Then tailor the monitor height and angle if desired. Or use a remote control handset to operate the desks from anywhere within the classroom.

Now that’s unique.

For faculty, students, facility managers, and the school, the benefits of All-in-One Desking technology are numerous:

- Instructors can easily integrate computer aided learning activities into their classes

- Students have desks that quickly adapt to their computer and non-computer needs

- Instructors and students can see and hear each other clearly which improves student engagement and learning

- Facility managers find that their computer equipment is safer for users, incurs less handling damage, is more secure from theft, and requires less support

- Schools now have multi-use classrooms to help them cope with burgeoning enrollments; and offering the latest desk technology enhances their standing for excellence in education.

And there are more benefits to consider.

All-in-One Desks are available for all classroom users. Our models include instructor lecterns, ADA compliant desks for disabled students, and laptop computer desks. All desks are built to last with welded steel frames and sturdy work surfaces that will withstand tough long-term usage. A keyboard and mouse holder eliminates the need for a pullout keyboard tray – resulting in improved classroom space utilization.

All-in-One Desks have been designed for today and tomorrow’s computer technology including iMac’s, larger monitors, multiple monitors, and all-in-one PC’s. To convert a desk from a LCD monitor to a laptop computer, use a field retrofit kit.

Desk power can be supplied using an 8-wire 4-circuit power track system. This UL listed electrical system provides ample outlets to each desk and delivers safe, reliable, and easily configured power to a row or cluster of desks.

ISE offers many standard desk configurations, or we can customize a desk to meet your specific application or space requirement.
